Benefits of Colonics

Although colon therapy may be new to you, it is one of the oldest recorded medical treatments and variations have been seen in journals from around the world. The Wood Gravity method, which is used here at Bay Area Colon Therapy, is the most effective and gentle method of colon-hydrotherapy.
Listed below are a few of the potential benefits you may reiceve from a colon therapy session

  • Improves peristaltic (muscular contraction) activity. Colon therapy provides therapeutic improvement of proper muscle tone, which allows a healthy colon’s muscular contractions to move food/waste through the intestinal tract. This promotes regular bowel movements.
  • Reduces stagnation. Colonics allow the proliferation of healthy bacteria and micro flora while helping to eliminate the over-production of bad bacteria. A balance of 80/20, good to bad, creates a healthy environment.
  • Reshapes and tones the colon.  The shape of the problematic colon can be very distorted. A series of treatments may help eliminate twists, prolapse or spastic constrictions, gradually allowing the colon to resume its natural shape and function.
  • Removes undigested food particles and promotes regular bowel movements to prevent buildup of toxic waste, excessive fermentation and putrefaction, which leads to foul smelling gas.
  • The process of digestion (ingestion to defecation) normally takes between twelve to twenty-four hours, assuming that the colon is fully functional. Irregular and infrequent bowel movements allow undigested food to remain in the colon, causing fermentation and buildup of toxic residue. Colonics remove these food particles, promoting colon health and normal function.
  • May remove parasites. Intestinal parasites are organisms that draw energy and food from their hosts. It is estimated that 200 million people are infected by intestinal parasites. Byproducts of parasites may be the cause of headaches, lethargy, and irritability.
  • Reduces stagnation. Colonics allow the proliferation of healthy bacteria and micro flora while helping to eliminate the over-production of bad bacteria. A balance of 80/20, good to bad, creates a healthy environment.
